mania, resulting in the destruction of our offices and

attacks at many others, down to the enll retailero and

{"rocer's. The riots have apparently some political fentures Fand there is every reason to believe that some sanguine

members of one of opposition parties are instigating the

ring - lenders of the riots who are imbued with mistaken idea

of extreide socialima, as n menus to spread outrages through-

out the Kaapire and to demonstrate the loss of the public

confidence in the present policy of the Government towards

the food problem.

The above, we believe, will have explained to you

the general position, and disabused any prejudices against us, if any, through unaithoritative reports printed in certain

parers by the parties interested who are trying to make the

public believe that we are waking unfair profit by the assis-

tance of the authorities, or through cornering foodstuffs. In reality we are serving best in the Government distribution

of the imported rice in order to relieve the shortage of

home production, and to regulate prices, also in supplying

foodstuffs to the Allied Governments who are drowing all

possible handy suplies, whereas the unpleasant and shameful

outrages throughout this Islami were caused by the ignorant

labourers and ruffians agitated by pretending socialiste

who are used by some politichi elements to their own

purposes.

Youre faithfully,

FOR SUZUKI & co..
